Missing Addend Beehive

I love using these beehives to introduce missing addendum. Just grab the number of bees you're working on (20 bees are included), in a small group or with partners students will close their eyes and some of the bees are placed in the hive. The student opens their eyes and says how many bees are missing. This is great for number sense and introducing missing addends.
